General Story

In 98 AD, Trajan, the governor of Upper Germany, succeeded as Roman emperor. He is remembered as a successful soldier-emperor, leading the second-largest military expansion in Roman history after Augustus. By the time of his death, the Roman Empire had reached its maximum size. His conquests of Dacia and the Parthian Empire brought immense wealth to Rome.

Trajan is also known for his public building programs and social welfare policies, which made him a beloved ruler. The Roman Senate honored him with the title “Optimus Princeps,” meaning “Best Ruler.” Under his leadership, the empire experienced prosperity in all aspects.

How to Pair General Trajan

After Evony released the assistant general feature, pairing generals became important. Trajan works well with infantry generals whose skill description is “leading the army to attack.” However, he cannot be paired with infantry generals who also have this attribute, like Pyrrhus, Robert the Bruce, and Peter the Great.

For cost-effective main general development, we recommend pairing Elise + Trajan or Scipio Africanus + Trajan. You can obtain fragments for Elise and Scipio through VIP premium packages, which makes it easier to ascend your main general.

If you prefer to use Trajan as the main ground troop general, this is also cost-effective since you can obtain him without spending money. You can temporarily pair him with harder-to-get assistant generals.

Essential Skill Books for Trajan

Trajan’s skills do not conflict with ‘Ground Troop Attack’ skill books. You just need to consider if the other general in your combination can use the same books.

  • Ground Troop Attack
  • Ground Troop HP
  • Ground Troop Defense
  • March Size
