For new players in Evony: The King’s Return, joining an Alliance is a crucial early step. A strong Alliance helps you avoid costly mistakes, grow faster, and fully enjoy the game.
1. Benefits of Joining an Alliance #
-
Earn Boss Rewards Without Taking Losses #
Can’t defeat a Boss Monster on your own? Send just one troop—such as a Siege Machine or Mounted Troop—to join a rally started by a stronger Alliance member. You can collect rewards without taking battle damage, making rallies one of the most efficient ways for beginners to obtain resources and equipment early on.
-
Reduce Timers with Alliance Help #
Whenever you upgrade buildings, craft equipment, or heal troops, remember to tap the Help icon. In fact, Alliance members can help reduce your timers and save you a substantial number of Speedups over time.
-
Enjoy Extra Buffs from Alliance Buildings #
R4 and R5 members can construct and upgrade Alliance buildings, including the Alliance City, Alliance Warehouse, Alliance Farm, Alliance Sawmill, Alliance Quarry, and Alliance Iron Mine.
Prioritize building the Alliance City, as it establishes your Alliance Territory. Members whose cities are located within the territory receive additional benefits, including resource protection, increased resource production, and faster gathering speed. The higher the Alliance City’s level, the stronger these benefits become.
Participating in the Battle of Chalons also gives your Alliance a chance to win an Alliance Castle, which provides additional buffs.
-
Strengthen Every Member Through Alliance Science #
Members can donate resources to advance Alliance Science. As research levels increase, all Alliance members benefit from stronger buffs.
-
Exchange Alliance Points for Useful Items #
Spend Alliance Points in the Alliance Shop to obtain resources and items. You can earn these points for free through donations, monster hunting, and other activities.
Event ranking rewards are a major way to accumulate Alliance Points quickly, so stay active in events if you want to build up your balance.
-
Unlock Alliance Events and Earn More Rewards #
Events such as Alliance Competition, Undead Invasion, Alliance Boss, Royal Thief, and Battlefield battles require Alliance membership to participate and earn rewards.
Some events also feature Alliance Ranking Rewards. This allows you to stack extra bonuses on top of your Personal Ranking Rewards.
Get Reinforcements Against Enemy Attacks #
If your city comes under attack, stronger Alliance members can send reinforcements to help you defend and reduce your losses.
2. How to Choose a Reliable Alliance #
- Check the rankings. Open the rankings and look at the Alliance Power Ranking. Active Alliances in the top five are a good place to start.
- Look for strong rally leaders. Check the Monarch Power Ranking and find out which Alliances have powerful players who regularly lead high-level Boss rallies.
- Check the language. Look for flags or language preferences in an Alliance’s name or description. Choosing an Alliance that uses your preferred language makes communication much easier.
3. Tips for Getting Your Application Accepted #
-
Replace Your Default Name #
Change your system-generated name to a custom nickname. This helps you look like an active player and may improve your chances of being accepted.
Include a Short Application Message #
Rather than submitting an application without a message, add a brief introduction, such as:
“I’m a new player looking to grow and contribute to the Alliance.”
A little effort can help your application stand out.
4. What to Do After Joining #
Say Hello in Alliance Chat #
Introduce yourself with a simple greeting, such as:
“Hi everyone! Happy to be here, and I’m looking forward to playing together.”
This lets your new Alliance members know you are active and ready to participate.
Make the Most of Alliance Help and Rallies #
Request Alliance Help whenever it is available to reduce your construction and research timers. When members launch monster rallies, send troops to join and collect rewards as described above.
5. How to Evaluate Your Alliance—and Leave If Necessary #
-
Signs of a Good Alliance #
Look for an active chat, members who regularly request and provide Alliance Help, frequent monster rallies throughout the day, and responsive R4 and R5 leadership.
-
Leaving an Alliance: An Important Difference #
Important: Whether you leave voluntarily or are removed affects how soon you can join another Alliance.
-
- Leaving voluntarily: If you leave an active Alliance yourself, a cooldown applies before you can join another one. However, if the R5 has been offline for an extended period and the Alliance has become inactive, you can leave without a cooldown once the game displays the “Alliance Inactive” notice.
- Being removed: No cooldown applies when an Alliance removes you. If your current Alliance is inactive, you can ask an R4 or R5 member to kick you out so you can join another Alliance immediately.
A Player’s Perspective #
One player shared their preference:
“Personally, I prefer a smaller but active Alliance. Large Alliances can have more disagreements and drama. I just want to enjoy the game and do my part.”
There is no one-size-fits-all Alliance. What matters most is finding one that matches your pace and playstyle.
As Evony approaches its tenth anniversary, the strong social connections built through its Alliance system remain a major reason players, both new and experienced, keep coming back. For many, logging in is about more than progressing in the game. It is a chance to chat with friends and fight side by side. Some of those friendships even lead to real-world meetups.
Choose the right Alliance, and you will gain more than resources and buffs. You will find companions to share your conquests.
