Guide to Evony General Idunn | How to Obtain & Usage

Epic Historic General Idunn is a special general in Evony. Although she belongs to the category of military generals, her attributes are not conducive to attack, nor can she be used to defend your own castle, and she cannot be used to reinforce others. This general is mainly used for the defense of all parts outside the main city, and her buff effect in this aspect is quite good. If you want to know more about the strength, acquisition methods, and usage of Idunn, please continue reading.

General Background

Idunn is the acting lord of the Fortress Lothbrok in the north of the Empire. She is a talented and intelligent young woman.
When the Raged King’s rule began to fall apart, Lothbrok had to face external military threats alone. Internal strife broke out within the fortress, and rumors spread that the young acting lord was not up to the task and that the fortress was on the verge of collapse. In this time of crisis, Idunn decided to give an inspiring speech to rally the people and restore their determination to defend Lothbrok. She stood in the center of the square, dressed in magnificent attire and holding the Golden Apple, and vowed to defend the fortress to the last moment. Her speech greatly boosted morale, successfully protecting the northern border of the Empire.
Idunn’s name comes from the Norse mythology of the “Goddess of Youth”. Those who incur her wrath will face destruction, while those who win her favor will enjoy eternal prosperity.

Buff comprehensive analysis:

Buffs without any conditional restrictions can also be applied to outside defense.
Therefore, based on the above data, it is not difficult to see that when Idunn leads troops stationed outside the city, her buff can be maximized as much as possible.
In addition, her buff is mainly for ranged troops. When she is the main general, the buffs defending outside the main city can reach the following values:
  • Ranged troop attack +195%
  • Ranged troop defense +190%
  • Ranged troop HP +175%

How do we understand Idunn’s attributes and use her?

The scope of “defend outside the main city” includes: defending buildings outside the city (excluding other players’ castles), gathering in resource spots outside the city, and occupying open space (camping).
So, using this general to lead troops with archers as the core unit to defend buildings on battlefields and SVS is a good choice.
Battlefields include the Battle of Gaugmela (BOG), Battle of Constantinople (BOC), Battle of Chalons, All-Star, and Clash of Civilizations (COC). Idunn can maximize her buffs by stationing her team in various buildings on these battlefields. While in Server War (SVS), she can be used to defend Hunter Temple, Forging Temple, Harvest Temple, City of Throne, Throne Tower, Magic Tower, and Hero Tower.
Another general who also focuses on defense outside the main city is Freyja. The difference between her and Idunn is that her main benefit is for ground troops.
